We finally made it to San Diego! We left Newport Beach on Monday Oct 19th to sail to Dana Point. We had planned to anchor for the night and then go on to Mission Bay but.... The sailing was so fine! Finally we had great wind, nice swells and no washing machine motion. We decided to sail thru the night to San Diego and miss the forecast for rain and fog and south winds from Tropical Storm Rick the following day. An hour past Dana Point and the wind shifted, the swells came this and that direction until late evening and early morning sailing turned ugly. We got into Mission Bay very tired but happy to finally be in San Diego.
