Merry Christmas!!

We took off mid December and sailed out again to the close Islands of La Paz (Isla Espiritu Santos and Isla Partita).  We had a relaxing time.  It was easy to spice up school work with a little science.  A  snorkeling trip followed up with identifying and adding these new found species to a "fish journal" and a lesson on different types of rocks and minerals found on our hike, along with may pictures of all the different cactii.  Then by chance while trolling the rocky shoreline for rooster fish we saw a blue footed-booby bird!   As you can see they are quite odd with feet looking like they are in flashy rubber boots!   We had tons of fun but when we figured it was time to go back to La Paz we ended up having stay out a couple of extra days then planned due to a big "norther" that came in.  We were in a very well protected anchorage but still had 30 knot gusts for most of the day.  Fortunately, we did not have do anchor watches at night as the wind settled down but then piped back up during the day.  We are now more trusting of our new Delta anchor!  These days were good for getting in a little extra reading and route planning for the mainland side of Mexico.

We have decided to stay in La Paz for Christmas and celebrate with another sailing family who also have  two boys around the same age as Teagan and Mick.  Then after the New Year we will head over to the mainland.

We are wishing all of you a great Christmas season and will be looking forward to hearing about your Christmas adventures.

Merry Christmas!
