Leaving La Cruz

Well the Albatross crew leave La Cruz behind just before sunrise.  We have a smooth sail across the Bay and the wind died as we rounded the point at Cabo Corrientes (Cape of Currents) - it usually blows 25 to 30 knots and the water swirls around - it was like a lake and dead calm.  Odd!!  We sail "wing on wing" in very light winds.  To do this the main sail is out on one side of the boat and the jib is on the other held out with a pole, this will catch most of the wind blowing directly at us from behind. During the sail down we have a dolphin who follows us "like a pup".  We figure he like the aquarium that is growing on the bottom of our boat, but we found out that he had an issue with our wind vane paddle.  It is shiny stainless steel and drags down in the water about a foot.  After checking out the boat sufficiently the dolphin takes numerous runs at the vane, and butts it with his snout!! Ow that just hurts!
Just as the very slow sailing day comes to an end near our destination of Tenacatita Bay, and we are navigating around the ever present rocks and reefs, we are attacked by bees!!!  Hundreds cover our sails!  The first mate doesn't do well with bees, to say the least.  So the boys and I stay trapped down below while the Captain (my hero) kills off every bee in sight.  They attack anything that moves and come back time and again in swarms to morn their dead!  After about an hour of bee killing a very hot, bee bitten Captain gives us the all clear sign.  We then check our heading and see if we can still make the anchorage of "Ten Bay"!  Fortunately, we can and go into anchor in a very beautiful bay.
